Thobe Buying Guide

What is a thobe?
A thobe (also spelled thawb) is the traditional ankle-length robe worn by men across the Gulf and wider Middle East. It’s valued for modesty, comfort and elegance — worn daily, for Friday prayers, and at weddings and celebrations. Browse our full Thobe collection to see every style.
What’s the difference between Saudi, Emirati, Kuwaiti and Qatari thobes?
The main differences are in the collar and cut. A Saudi thobe has a classic collar with a looser, relaxed fit; an Emirati kandura is collarless with a hanging tassel; a Kuwaiti thobe uses a shirt-style collar; and a Qatari thobe features a tall, structured collar with a sharply tailored silhouette.
What sizes do your thobes come in?
Men’s thobes are available in sizes 52 through 62, with separate boys and children’s collections. For the most accurate fit, check our Size Guide before ordering.
Do you ship across the USA and internationally?
Yes. Orders ship quickly from our US base with tracking, and we also serve international customers. Full details, timelines and costs are in our Shipping Policy.
What should I wear with a thobe?
A shemagh or ghutra with an agal completes a traditional look, while a kufi cap suits daily and prayer wear. For formal occasions, layer a bisht over your thobe. Explore the full Accessories collection to finish your outfit.
How do I care for my thobe?
Most of our cotton thobes can be machine washed on a gentle cycle and ironed on a low to medium setting to preserve the fabric’s finish and shape. Wash whites separately to keep them crisp and bright.
